Full vs. partial — and which fits you.
There's no single "denture" — the right choice depends on how many teeth are left and how you want the final result to feel. At your consult, we show you real samples of each and talk through the tradeoffs honestly.
- Full dentures — upper or lower (or both), replacing all teeth in the arch. Removable, traditional fit. From $1,200.
- Partial dentures — fill in gaps around existing healthy teeth. Clip-on metal frame or more discreet flexible-nylon frame. From $900.
How we build your denture.
Visit 1: digital scan + measurements. No gagging impression trays. We also photograph your existing smile (or old family photos if you've been without teeth for a while) to match tooth shape and shade.
Visit 2: wax try-in. We fit a mock-up of the denture so you can see the shape and shade before it's permanent. Changes are free at this stage.
Visit 3: final fit. We deliver the permanent denture, adjust the bite, and walk through wear and cleaning. Follow-up adjustments for the first 6 months are included — a new denture almost always needs 1-2 small tweaks as you get used to it.
Immediate dentures — if you can't go a day without teeth.
If you need remaining teeth extracted and can't face being without teeth while your mouth heals, we can build an "immediate denture" in advance and deliver it the same day as the extractions. You walk out with teeth.
Important caveat: your gums will shrink as they heal over 3-6 months, so an immediate denture usually needs a reline or replacement once healing is complete. We'll walk through both options at consult.
A realistic talk about fit and slipping.
Upper dentures hold well — the palate gives the denture a full surface to seat against, and most patients forget they're wearing them after a few weeks. Lower dentures are honest: even the best-fitting lower denture will sometimes move while you chew tougher foods, because the lower jaw just doesn't offer the same surface area.
What helps most: an exact fit from the start (our digital scan captures details a traditional impression misses), a thin layer of denture adhesive for tougher meals, and regular relines every 2-3 years as your jaw changes shape. We'll be direct at your consult about what to expect — no overpromising.

How long do dentures last?
A well-built denture typically lasts 5-10 years before it needs replacement or significant reline — your gums and bone change shape over time, and a denture that was molded to your mouth 8 years ago won't fit the same today. We recommend a reline every 2-3 years to keep the fit accurate as your jaw changes.
Can you fix a broken denture or tighten a loose one?
Yes — we offer same-day denture repair and relines for both our patients and patients from other offices. Simple repairs (cracks, missing tooth, broken clasp) are typically done in a few hours. Full relines to restore fit are $300-$450 and can often be completed the same day.
