Why professional whitening beats the drugstore.

Over-the-counter strips use a one-size-fits-all tray that leaks gel onto gums, giving you the streaks, sensitivity, and uneven spots that tank reviews on every drugstore kit. Professional whitening uses impressions of your teeth to build trays that fit your bite exactly — gel stays on enamel, gums stay calm, results come through even.

We also use higher-concentration gel than any retail brand is legally allowed to sell. Results that take six weeks of daily strips happen in a weekend with our take-home kit, or in a single office visit with GLO.

Take-home trays — our most popular option.

Start with a quick 20-minute visit: digital scan, no goopy impressions. Your custom trays are ready within a week. We hand you the trays, a starter set of gel syringes, and a written instruction sheet. You wear them for 30-60 minutes a day for 7-14 days (or overnight for low-sensitivity formulas).

Best for: patients who want gradual, fully-controlled whitening at home; anyone who travels frequently; touch-ups between life events like weddings or family photos. Starts at $299, including trays and enough gel for a full initial course.

In-office GLO — one visit, done.

GLO is a single 60-minute in-office treatment. We protect your gums, apply a high-concentration gel, and activate it with a blue LED light in three 15-minute cycles. Most patients leave 2-4 shades brighter on the Vita shade guide.

Best for: patients with an event coming up; anyone who prefers a single-visit result over a week of at-home trays. From $750 and includes a take-home touch-up kit to maintain results.

Will whitening hurt?

Mild cold sensitivity for 24-48 hours after whitening is normal — it passes. We use a desensitizing gel before and after treatment, and our take-home kits come in two formulas: a standard option for most patients and a low-sensitivity overnight formula for anyone who's had rough experiences with whitening before.

If sensitivity has scared you off in the past, tell us before we start. There's almost always a protocol that works.

What whitening can't fix.

Whitening lightens natural tooth enamel. It doesn't change the color of crowns, veneers, bonded fillings, or composite restorations — those stay their original shade. If you have front-tooth dental work, we recommend whitening first and then replacing visible restorations to match your new shade.

Deep internal staining (often from an old root canal or trauma) may need veneers or internal bleaching instead. We'll check in at your consultation and be honest about what whitening will and won't do.

Teeth Whitening in Missouri City, TX — questions worth asking.

How much does professional teeth whitening cost in Missouri City?

Custom take-home whitening starts at $299 and includes your trays plus enough gel for a full initial course. In-office GLO whitening starts at $750. Touch-up gel syringes are $49. Whitening is not typically covered by insurance, so these are flat cash prices. We review a written estimate with you before treatment, and we offer an in-house membership plan and CareCredit financing.

How long does professional whitening last?

Results typically hold well for 1-3 years depending on diet (coffee, red wine, and tea stain most) and oral hygiene. Most patients touch up with a single syringe of gel in their trays once or twice a year to keep the brightness. The trays themselves last for many years.

Does whitening damage enamel?

No. Professional-strength carbamide and hydrogen peroxide whitening has been studied for decades and does not weaken enamel when used correctly. Gums can be temporarily irritated if gel leaks outside custom trays — which is exactly why drugstore strips cause more complaints than professional whitening.

I have sensitive teeth. Can I still whiten?

Almost always, yes. We use a desensitizing gel before and after treatment and offer a low-sensitivity overnight formula for at-home use. Tell us about past whitening experiences during your consult — we tailor the protocol. If sensitivity is severe, we may suggest starting with a shorter wear time and building up.

Will whitening change the color of my crowns or fillings?

No — whitening only lightens natural tooth enamel. Crowns, veneers, and bonded fillings stay the shade they were made. If you have visible front-tooth dental work, we recommend whitening first and then replacing those restorations to match your new shade.
