What's actually included.
Our complete new-patient visit is $259, and it includes your comprehensive exam, full digital X-rays, and cleaning — the cleaning is built into that price, not a surprise separate charge tacked on at the desk the way some offices do it. Just want the exam and digital X-rays (a second opinion, say)? That's $129, no cleaning. Here's everything the complete $259 visit covers:
- Full comprehensive dental exam with Dr. Huynh
- Complete set of digital X-rays (bitewings + panoramic if needed)
- Oral cancer screening — including gums, tongue, cheeks, and throat
- Periodontal (gum) assessment with probe depth recording
- Professional cleaning by a Registered Dental Hygienist
- Polish and floss
- Written, itemized treatment recommendations (if any) — you take the plan home
Returning-patient cleanings (every 6 months).
Once you're established, routine cleanings are $99 with a periodic exam, including X-rays on the appropriate interval (bitewings annually for most adults, panoramic every 3-5 years unless clinical need). Most PPO plans cover routine cleanings as preventative care, and we file the claim on your behalf. Fluoride varnish is a low-cost add-on we recommend at every visit to help prevent cavities. For adults it is a small $25 add-on, because dental insurance typically covers fluoride only for children, but it is one of the most cost-effective ways to protect your teeth.
Patients on our in-house membership plan ($31/month, $370/year) get two cleanings, one set of X-rays, and two exams included for the year — a full preventative care bundle without insurance.
Kids' first visits.
We see kids of all ages. For kids under 10, the first visit is $150 and runs 30 minutes — a gentle introduction with counting teeth, a ride in the chair, a tooth polish, and a goody bag. No scary instruments unless we have to, no pressure, no tears-for-the-sake-of-X-rays. Parents stay in the room.
We time the first dental visit at age 1 or within 6 months of the first tooth, per American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry guidelines. Early visits are mostly about familiarization — and they pay off for a lifetime.
Gum Infection Therapy (a treatment, not a cleaning).
If your gums bleed regularly or your exam shows pockets deeper than 4 mm, you may need scaling and root planing instead of a routine cleaning. Some call it a "deep cleaning," but that name is misleading: it is not a more thorough cleaning, it is a treatment for gum disease. A routine cleaning polishes healthy teeth above the gumline; this goes below the gumline to remove hardened tartar that's causing inflammation.
Cost is $274-$355 per quadrant (four quadrants per mouth). Most PPO plans cover this as a periodontal service. We'll only recommend it if you actually need it — and we'll show you the pocket-depth readings that justify it.

What if I haven't been to the dentist in years?
