The smile you worked for — a retainer keeps it that way.
Some PPO plans with orthodontic benefits partially cover retainers. We verify your benefits, file the claim, and hand you a written estimate before we start. Finished braces or clear aligners? A custom retainer is what keeps that result. We make removable Hawley retainers, nearly invisible clear Essix trays, and fixed wire retainers bonded behind the teeth — and if yours goes missing, we can take new impressions and replace it quickly.

Why teeth shift back — and how a retainer stops that.
Teeth don't stay put on their own. After braces or clear aligners, they naturally drift back toward their original positions — and that tendency never really goes away. A retainer is the simple, low-effort way to protect the months of work you just finished.
We make custom removable and fixed retainers for patients throughout Missouri City, Sugar Land, Pearland, Fresno, and Fort Bend County — three proven options, each with its own strengths.
Removable retainers — Hawley and clear Essix.
The Hawley retainer is the traditional wire-and-acrylic style. A thin wire runs across the front of your teeth while an acrylic plate rests against the palate or the floor of your mouth. It's durable, easy to clean, and we can adjust it as needed over the years.
The clear Essix retainer is a thin plastic tray that fits over your teeth — it looks a lot like a clear aligner and is nearly invisible when worn. It's comfortable, easy to pop in and out, and the most popular choice for patients finishing clear aligner treatment.
Fixed retainers — always on the job.
A fixed retainer is a thin wire we bond to the back of your front teeth — most often the lower six, which are the most prone to shifting back. Because it sits hidden behind your teeth and is always in place, there's nothing to remember and nothing to lose. It's an excellent option for long-term stabilization.
The one trade-off: flossing takes a little more care. We'll show you how to use a floss threader or a water flosser so cleaning around the wire becomes routine.
Lost your retainer? Don't wait it out.
Even a short stretch without a retainer can let teeth start to shift. Call us at 281-747-9988 as soon as you notice it's missing or cracked — we'll take new impressions and fabricate a replacement quickly.
It's also smart to bring your retainer along to your regular checkup so we can look at the fit and condition while you're in the chair.
Care that fits your budget.
Most treatment can be split into manageable monthly payments — so cost never has to stand between you and the care you need.
From impressions to a smile that stays put.
Consult & exam
We look at your teeth and bite, talk through the three retainer types, and help you pick the one that fits your habits and budget.
Impressions
We take impressions of your teeth so your retainer is made for your smile — not a generic mold.
Fitting
You try the retainer in. We adjust removable retainers for a comfortable fit, or bond the fixed wire behind your front teeth and check your bite.
Wear & protect
Full-time wear (about 22 hours a day) for the first 3-6 months, then nights only. Bring it to checkups so we can keep an eye on the fit.
Dental Retainers in Missouri City, TX — questions worth asking.
How long do I need to wear my retainer?
Most patients wear their retainer full-time — about 22 hours a day — for the first 3-6 months, then switch to nights only. For long-term stability, we recommend wearing it nightly indefinitely, because teeth never stop having a tendency to shift. It becomes a simple bedtime habit for most people.
How much does a dental retainer cost in Missouri City?
Costs vary by retainer type. Clear removable retainers are typically the most affordable option; fixed retainers cost more up front but can last for years without replacement. We'll go over your options at a consultation and give you a written estimate before any treatment. Cherry and CareCredit financing are available, and we accept most PPO insurance plans.
What is a permanent (fixed) retainer?
It's a thin wire bonded to the back of your teeth — usually the lower front six, which are the most prone to shifting back. Because it stays in place around the clock, there's nothing to remember or take in and out. With good care, fixed retainers can last many years. Flossing takes a little extra technique, so we'll show you how to use a floss threader or water flosser.
I lost my retainer — what should I do?
Call us at 281-747-9988 as soon as possible. Even a short time without a retainer can allow teeth to shift, and the sooner you replace it, the better. We'll take new impressions and fabricate a new retainer quickly.
Which retainer type is right for me?
It depends on your habits and goals. The clear Essix tray is the most popular choice after clear aligner treatment because it's nearly invisible and easy to wear. The Hawley is the most durable and can be adjusted over time. A fixed retainer is a great fit if you'd rather not think about taking anything in and out. We'll walk you through the trade-offs at your visit.
