How clear aligners actually work.
We scan your teeth in 3D, then use treatment-planning software to map the exact tooth movements needed to get from today's smile to your finished smile — visit by visit, tray by tray. You'll see the preview before agreeing to treatment.
A few weeks later, a series of custom clear plastic trays arrives. You wear each tray for 1-2 weeks (about 22 hours a day, taking them out only to eat and brush), then switch to the next. The teeth move about 0.25 mm per tray. Short check-ins every 6-8 weeks confirm everything's tracking as planned.
Are clear aligners right for your case?
Clear aligners work beautifully for most mild-to-moderate alignment issues. Severe cases involving extreme rotations, impacted teeth, or significant jaw-surgery needs are better handled with traditional braces or orthodontist referral — we'll tell you plainly if that's you.
- Crowded or overlapped front teeth
- Gaps between teeth (diastemas)
- Mild-to-moderate overbite, underbite, or crossbite
- Relapsed orthodontics from childhood braces
- Pre-veneer alignment (so less enamel has to be reduced)
Full case vs. Express (lite) cases.
Express aligners — 7-14 trays, about 3-6 months, $2,400-$3,400. Good for minor front-tooth shifts, small gaps, or relapsed orthodontic cases.
Full clear aligners — 18-40+ trays, about 6-18 months, $3,900-$5,500 depending on case complexity. Handles most adult and teen cases including significant crowding, bite correction, and multi-arch work.
At the free consult we scan, review your teeth, and tell you which tier fits. No bait-and-switch to "you need Full" after you've paid for Express.
Cost & insurance.
Full clear aligner treatment starts at $3,900 at Missouri City Dentistry. Most PPO dental plans with orthodontic coverage contribute toward treatment (lifetime max). We verify your specific benefit before treatment begins and apply it as a direct discount — you don't wait for a reimbursement check.
For the remaining balance, CareCredit financing is available. Our in-house membership plan ($31/month, $370/year) saves members 20% on treatment.
Retainers — the part no one talks about.
Teeth will drift back toward their original position if you don't retain them. Your first set of clear retainers is included with every clear aligner case at Missouri City Dentistry. We'll show you the evening-wear routine that keeps results stable for years — and offer replacement retainers at a fair flat price, not a markup.
Care that fits your budget.
Most treatment can be split into manageable monthly payments — so cost never has to stand between you and the care you need.

Clear Aligners in Missouri City, TX — questions worth asking.
How much do clear aligners cost in Missouri City?
Full clear aligner treatment at Missouri City Dentistry starts at $3,900 and typically runs $3,900-$5,500 depending on case complexity. Express aligners (for minor cases) start at $2,400. Most PPO plans with orthodontic coverage contribute toward treatment. CareCredit financing is available.
How long do clear aligners take?
Most adult cases complete in 6-18 months. Simple cases (minor crowding, small gaps) often finish in 3-6 months with express aligners. Complex cases with significant bite correction or multi-arch movement can run 18-24 months. Dr. Huynh will give you an honest estimate at the free 3D scan.
Do clear aligners hurt?
Mild pressure and tenderness for the first 2-3 days of each new tray is normal — that's the tooth movement happening. Over-the-counter ibuprofen handles it easily. The overall experience is less painful than traditional braces because there are no brackets or wires to irritate cheeks and lips.
What happens if I lose or break an aligner?
Call us. We can usually have you move to the next tray early or order a replacement at a flat cost (much less than a full case). Don't just skip the tray — every tray builds on the last, and skipping one makes the next one not fit.
Do clear aligners work for teens?
Yes — teen clear aligners are designed for growing mouths and include blue compliance indicators that fade when the tray is worn correctly. Most teens finish in 12-18 months. We offer family pricing when a parent and teen are both in treatment.
